I love road trips, light traffic and friendly locals; so it's a perfect match. 
I've loved driving since I was a teen. I used to go out to open roads, blast my music and drive like a bat of of hell.
Of course, that was back when gas was a dollar a gallon. Back in the mid 80's.
YES, I'm Gen❌  all the way!

So, in 2020, when we were all isolating ourselves in our homes, I got in my car instead and drove.

It felt amazing and it reminded me of how much I love driving.
 
So, instead of flying across country like I had been,
I started driving.

Then I realized how much I disliked the interstates.
Drivers are in too much a hurry, and the poor truckers who are just trying to do their jobs, have to deal with way too many idiots.
I just didn't want to be caught up in any of that.

So I started taking the quiet highways across country and they took me through the most adorable small towns.

Sure it slower, but it's peaceful and beautiful and kind... and now it's the only way I go.

I started recording them along the way for my own record keeping but it seems like others enjoy the ride too.
